Games Night in aid of our Macmillan Centre

CHFT Charity would like to say a special thanks to 2 amazing fundraisers who hosted a games night in aid of our Macmillan Centre at Calderdale Royal Hospital.

Louise and David Goodchild decided to host a games night where they invited their close friends and family to celebrate David getting signed off from the Cancer Centre.

Dave got diagnosed with cancer back in 2017, after 5 and a half years, David has finally been discharged from the Macmillan Centre. Louise and David couldn't be anymore grateful for our amazing colleagues if they tried.

"I'm not quite sure how the staff did it, but they actually made going to chemo NOT suck" - Louise Goodchild, wife of David. Both Louise and Dave wanted to host a games night and raise funds to say thank you for all the support and help they recieved throughout their time at the centre.

It's great to hear all the amazing stories about our colleagues, Dave and Louise explained how they wouldn't have been able to keep the smiles on their faces without the truly amazing colleagues who worked with them.

This games night was also planned as a way for Louise and Dave to say thank you to their friends for being such a supportive network.

The evening raised a fantastic amount of £1062.50 which will go towards making people feel as comfortable as Dave did.
