In a heartwarming display of community support, the Mother’s Union in Lepton recently organised and donated a collection of mini hygiene packs to CHFT Charity. We recognised that these thoughtful packs would be helpful in our Acute Frailty Unit at CHFT.
Recognising that many frail and elderly patients arrive at hospital unexpectedly, often without the basic essentials. The Mothers Union assembled hygiene packs containing personal care items, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, combs, flannels, and other necessities – small but vital items that help restore comfort and dignity during a hospital stay.
The donated packs were warmly received by the Acute Frailty Team, where they explained that having these resources on hand has been a great help in supporting patients who may not have anyone to bring items from home.
CHFT Charity would like to say a massive thanks to the Mothers Union in Lepton for making amazing things happen for patients at CHFT.
This just highlights how local groups can make a meaningful contribution to NHS services. Through compassion, initiative and community spirit, a small gesture has brought a ray of sunshine and lasting difference to those who need it most.
