Thanks to your kind donations, CHFT Charity are able to help the Rainbow Child Development Unit relocate into a new space at the Clock House in Elland.
The Rainbow Child Development Service supports children and young people aged 0-18 years who have complex needs, development delay and disabilities. This service has Paediatric consult led clinics several times a week for their patients.
This service is currently located next to the Learning Centre at Calderdale Royal Hospital on the south side of the hospital site. CRH needs this building to be demolished to allow site expansion which is part of the reconfiguration of services across both hospitals.
The Rainbow Child Development Unit needed a new space as this service is vital to many families. Families from across Calderdale and Greater Huddersfield attend after referral for specialist support and care for their children. CHFT Charity wanted to make sure that they secure the right building to carry on their amazing work and to enhance patient experience.
Clock House Building in Elland is a more central position across our locality. This building also has enough space that can accommodate other support services required by families such a specialist nursing teams and community therapy services. This helps reduce the need for multiple appointments in different locations, reducing time, travel, stress, and cost for families. When choosing a building, we had to make sure it was wheelchair accessible, safe parking and access.
Work started in June 2022 to transform the space at Clock House and hopefully the team can relocate into the space in Autumn. Your donations really do make a difference!
Keep an eye on our social media channels as we post updates on the progress of the building.
