Cricket Tournament results...

36 colleagues representing many different services and departments across CHFT all came together at our annual CHFT Cricket Tournament on Saturday 8th June, held at The Cricket Asylum in Sowerby Bridge.

Starting off at 9:30am, the 6 teams competed throughout the day - breaking only for a quick bite to eat over lunchtime.

Emma Kovaleski, Charity Manager, said: "The whole day was an amazing success, what a way to bring our Amazing in Action Week to a close. With a brilliant mix of humour and competition, there are so many very special moments to remember from the day.

"The match between Huddersfield Hurricains and Battyes Swingers and Bowlers was a particular highlight, as despite both teams being -20 points down, they were still cheering and celebrating any small achievement they could make. Hats off to the umpire extraordinaire, Hair Basin who held firm with his spectacular decision making!"

Crowned winners of the tournament, winning all 3 matches with an impressive 129 runs, the Wainstall Warriors were presented with the CHFT Cricket Cup at the CHFT Charity HQ.

Deputy Medical Director, Neeraj Bhasin, played for Wainstall Warriors, said: “It was another brilliant tournament which was really inclusive and so much fun, whilst still competitive.

"I’m so pleased the Wainstall Warriors won as it really showed what we were trying to achieve. As you can see from the photo, colleagues from different roles coming together as a team, with some family members filling in some last minute gaps. Huge thanks to Emma for pulling everything together and being awesome in the run up and on the day. See you there next year!”
